Dynamic Content enables you to have multiple versions of a given module in a single email campaign. You can create multiple versions of their confirmation, cancellation and modification emails.
Let’s say that you are creating a confirmation email that includes the cancellation policy at the bottom. The cancellation policy changes based on the customer’s rate code. Rather than create 2 different emails in order to include the relevant cancellation policy, you can create one email and add the dynamic modules.
Under the “Add a Module” tab, select the text module we will be using in our example. Drag and drop the module into the email composer.
Once you add your text, select the icon to the side of the text box:
Create the default text for your first rate code. To the right of the module, you will see a new button here. This allows you to edit your “module versions”. You will see the title of your first version as default. To add a new version for your reservations who booked your advance purchase rate, click on the “plus” icon.
Name the version, for example, ADV_purchase. Note that you may not have spaces in the name. If you attempt to save a version name that does not meet these guidelines, you will receive an error message. This name is for internal purposes only.
We have a variety of conditions to select from which includes: Rate Code, Room Type, Channel and Gender for recurring campaigns. In our example, we will use “rate code”. Select the rate code from the list.
This has now added a new version of this module to your email. Edit the module to reflect the changes to the cancellation policy. For example, you can cancel free of charge until 15 days before arrival. If a guest books the advance purchase rate on your website, they will receive an email with the cancellation policy specific to this rate code.
Any modules that contain more than one version will have a green flag to the right of the module. This allows for easy customization when updating your email content. All modules can be updated to include more than one version at this time.
When testing your email in Step 5, you have the ability to filter by the different version types. Select the filters in order to see how the email will look. When previewing your email on the last step, the default email will appear.
