For advanced users, there is the option of inputting custom HTML codes to create a campaign.
Select your campaign type, name the campaign and in the first step of the design portion of the Campaign Builder process select the tab labelled BASIC. Here you will see some basic template options as well as the HTML option.
Depending on the type of campaign being created the appropriate merge tag options will be available. This would prevent a stay-based merge tag being included in a newsletter campaign and would ensure necessary merge tags are included such as a Double Opt-in merge tag being available for a Double Opt-in campaign.
Simply copy and paste your HTML code into the body of the campaign.
Privacy Compliance and Unsubscribe
For privacy compliance, it is required that an unsubscribe merge tag and link be included in the campaign. The unsubscribe URL is dynamic and changes from recipient to recipient, thus a static URL will not work. The merge tag [UNSUBSCRIBE URL] needs to be placed where the URL for the hyperlink of your text, call to action button or image to unsubscribe is located. See below for example of this code.
<a href="[UNSUBSCRIBE URL]">Unsubscribe</a> from our marketing emails.
View in Browser
View in Browser links also require a merge tag as these are dynamic links that are unique to each recipient. Insert [VIEW IN BROWSER LINK] in place of the URL for your view in browser link and this dynamic URL will populate when your campaign is deployed to live recipients.
Upsells
If you are creating an HTML email that utilizes the Upsells and Upgrades functionality of Revinate, you will also need to use a Merge Tag in place of that link as this, too, is a dynamic URL. The merge tag for your Upsells links, call to action buttons or images is [UPSELL URL].
Guest Preferences Survey
If you have a Guest Preferences survey use merge tag [GUEST_PREFERENCES] to link call to action buttons or images to the survey.
Using Revinate’s campaign builder you may also choose the HTML module to have only a specific section of the campaign use HTML if you are building a campaign using an existing template or choosing from any one of the available layouts.
