Message Throttling enables hotel speed limits on Ivy's group outbound messages (versus sending all at once) to soften the peaks in incoming text message volume during busy times (especially magic hour).
Throttling defaults to "off," and is configured as a "number of seconds" delay between each message. Ivy waits for 0.3 to 0.5 of a second between messages when not throttled. 1-3 second delays between messages have produced good results at small & big box hotel beta tests.
Throttling also applies to Group Messages, which are deemed less time-sensitive and prioritize manual individual outbound messages over group outbound messages. A manual outbound message can cut in line and deliver faster to the guest even if many group messages are waiting in the queue.
